M.G.M Model School, Ayiroor, Varkala is one of the most prestigious projects of the Aykia Pradayini Trust founded by Dr. P. K. Sukumaran, Educationalist, Philanthropist along with a set of selfless, dedicated social workers in 1983. The Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the school were inaugurated by Shri. R.L. Bhatia (the then Kerala Governor) on 2nd October 2007 in the presence of Late Shri. Varkala Radhakrishnan (M.P) and Shri. Varkala Kahar (M.L.A). The valedictory of the Jubilee was graced by His Eminence A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. This community-school aims at providing the best possible quality education to the students within an educational frame work for their holistic development. The school strives to instill in children qualities such as hard work, responsibility, honesty, tolerance, national outlook, compassion and healthy competition. The school believes that education is not just imparting 3 R'S (Reading, Writing and Arithmetic) but to impart 21st century skills (critical thinking, creativity, communicative and collaborative) along with responsibility, relationship and recreation. The school is progressing under the leadership of Trust secretary Dr. P.K.
