(National Cadet Corps) @ MGM
National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the
biggest youth organization functioning under the Ministry of Defence,
Government of India. It inculcates discipline and sense of unity and patriotism
in youth and trains in defense preparedness.
MGM Model School has started NCC
unit, ‘Kerala Lakshyadeep Group One Kerala Battalion’ on 7th July 2022 with NCC
cadets from the junior wing of class VIII. It functions as a self-financing
scheme with 2 years of service. After completing 2 years of service in the
National Cadet Corps (NCC), cadets are awarded a certificate. This certificate
is a recognition of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the NCC. It
can also be beneficial for their future careers, as it demonstrates their leadership
skills, discipline, and sense of responsibility.
Students are given training on
Fridays from 3 PM to 5:30 PM with basic military parades, small arms training,
drills, community service. Cadets also participate in camps and expeditions,
developing leadership skills and a sense of patriotism. The Associate NCC
Officer of MGM is Mr. Binu Kumar C.
