World Environment Day Celebrations 2022-23

MGM Model School ,Ayiroor,Varkala celebrated World Environment Day on June 4th 2022 and it was continued till 10th June 2022 by highlighting the message  “Only One Earth” and on the theme  “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”.

The Environmental Scientist and the former Director of Jalanidhi,Kerala State graced the occasion.He interacted with the students of IX and X on the topic Protection of Nature and Maintenance. Diya S Prem (Std X) disguised as Smt. Sugatha Kumari ,the poetess and Environmental Activist and Aldina (Std X) as Shri. Sundarlal Bahuguna interacted with the students . 

Flash mob was performed by the students of XII based on the above theme. In addition to this a sapling was planted.

Many programmes like verification ,Slogan writing ,poster making ,Elocution ,'Tulsi vanam' and photography competition (capture the beauty of nature),were conducted related to the World Environment Day.Hindustan Scout and Guide organised Terrarium Competition. The Best photos on Beautiful Nature were displayed in the auditorium .Primary Section  too took initiative and conducted programmes such as Micro Green.The Pledge was taken by all the students to protect nature.

Secretary Shri P K Sukumaran inaugurated and Principal Dr. Pooja S offered felicitation .Vice Principals Mrs. Meera S,Mrs. Manju Divakaran,Section Head Mrs. Hanilet S D,Mrs. Leena ,Mrs. Biji K S,Eco Club Convenor ,Mrs Sindhu M .Hindustan Scouts and Guide trainers Mr. Pravin S R,Mr. Binukumar C and Mrs. Hafnitha participated and made this year's World Environment Day a grand and a successful one.
