NCC

National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the largest youth organization functioning under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It inculcates discipline, unity, and a profound sense of patriotism in youth while training them in defense preparedness and civic duty.

MGM Model School launched its NCC unit — '1 Kerala Battalion, Kerala Lakshadweep Group' — on 7th July 2022 with cadets from the Junior Wing (Class VIII). It functions as a self-financing scheme with 4 years of service.

Cadets undergo regular training every Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, covering basic military parades, small arms training, drills, physical fitness, and community service. Cadets also participate in state and national camps and expeditions that develop leadership, resilience, and patriotic camaraderie.

On successful completion of 2 years, cadets are awarded the prestigious NCC Certificate — a formal recognition of their dedication, hard work, and discipline, which adds significant merit to their academic and career pursuits.

The Associate NCC Officer (ANO) is Retd. Subedar Major Mr. Rajesh S.
